One iMethods health system partner is creating its own PPE in coordination with an area community college, looking outside the four walls of the hospital to prepare staff for the expected COVID-19 patient surge. Face shields and connectors for respiratory systems are among items being manufactured using 3D printing. In addition, the health system is talking with a car manufacturer to help mass-produce face shields. A local company in the area that was forced to close due to the pandemic donated two pallets of N95 masks. According to the team, it’s been very interesting to see how the local community has joined in partnership to help and humbling to watch so many pull together for one purpose.
