Surge Planning: Assessing patients online, curbside and in clinics

Our friends at Baptist Health Care of Pensacola are taking a multi-pronged approach to surge planning. They have set up a dedicated COVID-19 clinic that offers curbside screening, with a second screening clinic set to open on March 27. The health system is implementing a web/mobile-based app to screen symptoms remotely using weighted scores to determine who needs to be seen. To manage patients admitted for COVID-19, the hospital is looking to transform a med-surg department into an ICU.
